The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities abroad and operating in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as a market that would grow for toilets and bidet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words to ensure that the future generation could be able to read the words. However, many words were being replaced with foreign words, such as dui, which is Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Toto's early history that began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's economic expansion. In the early years of its existence, the company made goods to meet demand for new, modern urban housing. It was the first tunnel kiln in the country to continuously produce ceramics. It also pioneered automation to allow production control, which allows for greater efficiency and a more consistent production.
In the late 1980s, the company began expanding overseas in order to take advantage of sales and new markets. It launched the Cera Trading Company, importing and distributing other products from other manufacturers to complement its own line of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped increase sales and increased the firm's market share.
In the late 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis on research and development of household appliances that are water-related. It also redesigned its system of distribution to better serve customers and improve profit. The company also employed the approach of just-in-time in its supply chain management as well as sales program. This led to a higher level of customer satisfaction.
Toto continues to invent on the toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for example is equipped with an extremely powerful tornado flush that is more ecologically friendly than traditional toilets. The company uses recycled water for its manufacturing process and has a green purchasing policy. Toto also produces faucets, bathtubs and hand dryers with greater energy efficiency than standard models.
The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It features exhibits on Toto's most famous products, their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics), the history of plumbing and other products like bath units. In a separate gallery you can view Toto products sold all over. The museum also has a bathroom with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.
Before forming Toto members of the group performed sessions for a variety of musicians. Boz Scaggs album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich, guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather and drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also played on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia you'd expect the group to be prog queens and kings - but it's actually a fairly simple rock band. The group started out as a group and released two albums - 1979's self-titled debut, and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. But even though the band have a variety of musical backgrounds their biggest hit was achieved in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a massive blockbuster but not without its difficulties. The record companies placed Toto under pressure to deliver a hit single or they would rescind the album. Luckily for Toto they did, with the assistance of the smash single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is the result of their previous experience. Before forming the group, the band members worked as session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has become the norm for '80s pop, and has influenced many modern artists.
토토사이트 꽁머니 begins hard with tracks like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to create great AOR tunes that slowly get into your head. However, the album also includes some more mellow, jazzy tracks, like The Little Things and Chinatown. And the album ends with Great Expectations, a song that combines folk with distorted AOR and should sound completely wrong, but actually works amazingly well.
After Toto IV The band's fortunes took a turn towards the negative. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career. The band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the turbulence, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. However, the group had a successful chart-topping album in 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. The album was the last of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new vocalist.

Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an attempt to return to the classic sextet structure and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort with a harder edge. The more edgy sound of the album was a reflection of the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability on the drums and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard playing was as well more refined, more precise, and less derivative on earlier efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live show in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The studio album came out shortly after, and the group embarked on a world-wide tour to promote the album. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old demos and tapes in search of a new record featuring songs that were never recorded before. The album was released in 2001 as a double album titled Then & Now. It was the first album in the band's history not to include a single song with the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously not released track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and the vocalist Williams was suffering from a serious laryngitis infection which hampered his singing. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes along with the other members of Asia--Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened an event in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility of formally reforming the group. The lineup, with the exception of Howe who was occupied with Yes during that time, was renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also featured a special appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
